FCA's Extend after school program focuses on kids' behavioral health. A key component of good health is physical activity and play. Thank you to our friends from the Berkshire School who came to teach soccer skills to the kids at Extend.

Shout Out to the Danbury Volunteer Firefighters

Another successful toy drive by the Danbury Volunteer Firefighters – thank you for all your hours spent collecting gifts for the kids at FCA. We also want to thank Chick Fil A for donating food and our volunteers who carried, stacked and sorted! Happy holidays to all – you made things much brighter at FCA!

Boeringher Ingelheim Clinical Operations Department did a day of service at FCA this fall and after spending time with us decided to help out with a drive for toys, sporting goods and art supplies for our kids. We are so grateful!

Ridgefield Girl Scouts, led by Patty Labozzo and Jessica Collins, donated 30 complete Thanksgiving meals to families in need at FCA. We are so thankful for their effort for the 5th year in a row!

As part of their Thanksgiving celebration, Barbara Carroll, DeAnna Schappert, and Sarah Kehoe inspired their first graders at Farmingville Elementary School in Ridgefield to collect books for children at FCA. We are thankful for you!

Shout Out to the Knights of Columbus of Brookfield

We are so grateful to our friends at Knights of Columbus of Brookfield for their efforts of keeping kids warm every year.  The Knights of Columbus of Brookfield donated 80 coats for the kids in need.

Shout Out to Anjiali

Shout out to Anjali Duenwald of Redding, who completed her Girl Scout Gold Award project with Family & Children's Aid. Anjali collected donations of art supplies for our Extend after school behavioral health care program. She then set up a very organized system of do-it-yourself arts and crafts projects for Extend kids, which will foster creativity and healing!

Shout Out to the Western Connecticut State University

On September 20, Western Connecticut State University held its annual day of service, sending about 800 faculty, staff and students out into the Greater Danbury area. FCA hosted 15 volunteers from WCSU who restocked and organized our Harmony Station subway shops and Treasure Chest for our kids! Thank you for your hard work and helping us get ready for the fall season!

Big thank you to Amanda Cedeno, Kimberly Cedeno, family, friends, and Prudential co-workers for delivering over 100 stuffed backpacks and boxes of school supplies to FCA. For the fourth year in a row, they have gone above and beyond to help our kids get ready for back to school!

Shout Out to the Counseling Department at the Ridgefield High School

The Counseling Department at the Ridgefield High School went above and beyond for the kids in our community. They donated supplies to our Subway Station. The supplies are used to award the children for doing a good job in their clinical sessions. After the donations were dropped off they also participated in a therapeutic workshop that we provide to our clients. Thank you for your donations, but most of all, thank you for what you do for the children in our community!

Shout Out to the Union Savings Bank Finance & General Services Department

Union Savings Bank Finance and General Services Department employees for donating some backpacks, sports balls, board games and most especially their valuable time as they organized our subway station. We at FCA appreciate you and so do our kids!

Shout Out to Danbury Fair Chick-fil-A!

Rich Beattie, a father of three, brought Chick-Fil-A to the Danbury Fair Mall in 2014. Rich also brought with him the spirit of giving and fast found a connection with the mission of Family & Children's Aid. We are have been the proud and lucky beneficiary of Chick-fil-A Danbury's extraordinary kindness and generosity.

Rarely is there ever an FCA event—either in the community or at FCA with hardworking volunteers—that Chick-fil-A hasn't offered to provide meals for everyone. Chick-fil-A's team of dedicated staff goes above and beyond to help our kids at FCA to meet their therapeutic goals as well. Who wouldn't want free Chick-fil-A as an incentive? We can't give a BIG ENOUGH SHOUT OUT to our partner, Chick-fil-A for all they have done, and continue to do!! Help us thank them by stopping by the Danbury Fair Mall and getting a delicious meal or having your next event/party/meeting/anything catered with them!! Shout Out to the Princess Ball!

The Princess Ball is a lovely evening for fathers and daughters. Held at the Ethan Allen Hotel for girls from Grades 1-8, a portion of all proceeds goes to help worthy charities in our community. The Princess Ball has been a wonderful supporter of Family & Children's Aid for years upon years, and we can't thank them enough for their continued support!

Shout Out to the Danbury Volunteer Fire Department & Five Below!

The dedication of our Danbury Volunteer Fire Department is already unquestionable, but their mission to help support kids in need in our community is proven again and again as they brave the cold to collect toys for Family & Children's Aid.

With the closing of Toys R Us, we were all concerned as to where and how we could continue to provide gifts for the countless families served by FCA. Five Below has proven to be an outstanding partner, collecting toys all week long as well to help fill the trucks as soon as they show up on Friday nights! We can't thank these amazing people more! They are definitely our Holiday Heroes!

This holiday season marked the 11th Annual Boatload of Toys Toy Drive benefiting Family & Children's Aid at Candlewood East Marina. They achieved their goal in a big way to fill an entire boat with toys!! Big Shout Out to the Marina and their awesome team!!

The DiBiase Family held their annual toy drive for Family & Children's Aid in honor of Lauren DiBiase and her love for children. Countless children have benefitted from their generosity and this special way to remember Lauren.

On Friday, December 7th we held our annual Employee Recognition Luncheon in our Playmakers Village. Team FCA members received awards for their dedication starting at 5 years and going up to FORTY years! Steve Gross, Chief Playmaker from the Life is Good Kids Foundation gave an inspirational speech on the power of optimism.
