FCA's outpatient Child Guidance Clinic is an Enhanced Care rated clinic (ECC) with a uniquely designed space which brings joy and awe to all who enter. From a Hot Air Balloon floating in the lofted foyer, to a Subway Car clients can ride below ground, FCA strives to create a whimsical environment that encourages healing through joy, optimism and play.

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) works collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team of professionals to meet the presenting psychiatric needs of assigned clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Initial psychiatric assessment & diagnosis of referred clients
  • Prescription of psychiatric medications
  • Routine monitoring/management of medications and side effects
  • Client education regarding diagnosis and/or medication
  • Treatment team meetings with client's referring clinician and external providers as needed
  • Maintain accurate client records in EMR system

As a full-time employee, the APRN is expected to work 40 hours per week within a flexible schedule to meet client availability. Generally, the APRN is expected spend about 24+ hours per week providing direct client services such as initial assessments and medication management appointments. Additionally, FCA provides APRNs with the opportunity to carry a small therapy caseload.
