Registerd Nurse (RN)

Part-time Registered Nurse (RN) needed to support adolescents residing within our Group Home facilities, licensed by the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

The RN position offers a flexible thirty (30) hour/week schedule and position responsibilities include:

  • Supervision of DCF Medication Administration Certified Staff
  • Ensure all over the counter and controlled medications are administered properly and in compliance with DCF licensing standards
  • Ensure facilities are safe and clean for clients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures and controlled substance regulations
  • Monitor medication and medical supplies and maintain all medication orders
  • Monitor and record vital signs; Height, Weight, BMI, AIMS, for all clients every 3 months or as ordered/needed
  • Educate clients, staff and families on prescribed medications
  • Assist in scheduling medical appointments for residents
  • Maintain all client medical records
  • Attend to all client medical concerns and immediately treat medical emergencies

Position Requirements

  • Valid CT state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Experience working with clients who have behavioral and/or emotion needs highly preferred
  • Experience working with children and/or adolescents required
  • Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team consisting of; Master’s level Clinicians, Psychiatrists, Milieu Workers and Administration
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented and possess superior time management skills
  • Familiarity with pediatric psychopharmacology a plus
