Last year it snowed, this year it poured! But the elements don't ever get in the way of the Danbury Volunteer Fire Departments and their "Big Toy" Delivery.
Twelve firetrucks were stuffed with toys that had been collected over a series of five weeks from the dedicated fire department volunteers of Danbury.
Starting on Black Friday and almost right up until Christmas, our city's bravest took shifts on Friday evenings outside of Toys R Us in Danbury to collect toys for our children in need.
This has become an annual event that Family & Children's Aid has come to depend upon to help fulfill the wishes of hundreds of children we serve. Without these donations, many of our clients families are not able to afford presents. This means so much to them, and to us!
