That's a wrap! This past weekend, Family & Children's Aid concluded their 8th annual MLB Life Skills Clinic Series, after having offered the clinics to over 1,000 kids in the communities of Danbury, Waterbury, Norwalk, and New Milford. Since 2016, FCA has partnered with the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association to provide the clinics to thousands of children across Connecticut for free of charge.
FCA's free baseball clinics provide a fun, educational baseball experience with positive role models, while also introducing families to available behavioral health services and recruiting foster parents, a much needed resource in our communities. Each clinic is taught by up to 12 former Major League Baseball players in a multi-station format and is topped off with a life skills station, where John Doherty, former Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox player, stresses the importance of putting school first, teamwork, and treating others with kindness.
